KATHUA, Oct 5: Gandhi Global Family J&K in association with United Nations (UN) New Delhi organized a match for special children in Kathua district as a part of Gandhi-Mandela Cricket Series 2015.
The match was held at Govt Degree College Cricket Ground Kathua in presence of Dr B L Gupta, Principal GDC Kathua and Padmashri S P Varma, vice president GGF.
The match was played between Balashram XI and Special Boys Govt Higher Secondary School, Kathua XI.
The event was presided over by Padmashri S P Varma.
Later-on, Balashram won the match by seven wickets and Anit Verma was declared boy of the match for his outstanding performance.
Earlier, Dr Gupta, Principal GDC Kathua said that the purpose of this tournament is to encourage these special kids and to find out talent among them. Later, Padmashri Varma presented UN medals to both the teams in presence of Lecturer Ramkrishan, Lecturer Surinder Sharma and Director Physical Education College Kathua Kuldeep Raj, besides galaxy of special children.
