JAMMU, May 5: The zones of Gandhi Nagar and Khour registered emphatic wins over their rivals in the District Level Inter-Zonal Under-14 boys cricket tournament, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, its Director General at KC Public School ground, here today.
In the first match played today, Gandhi Nagar zone defeated Marh zone by 19 runs. Gandhi Nagar scored 59 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 10 overs, while Marh zone scored 40/8 in the stipulated 10 overs.
In another match, Khour zone drubbed Dansal by 8 wickets in an easy contest.
The matches are being held as part of annual calendar of activities to pick the Jammu district team for Inter-District Under-14 Cricket Tournament.
The matches are being conducted under the panel of experts from the Department of Youth Services and Sports including Zonal Physical Education Officer, Veer Ji Bhat (Convener), B K Tickoo, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Jagtar Singh, Suresh Singh, Mohd Farooq, Madan Mohan, Pankaj Sasun and Mukesh Sharma.
