JAMMU, May 20: Defeating Bishnah zone in an exciting contest by 7 points in the summit clash, Gandhi Nagar zone lifted the title trophy in Under-17 boys kabaddi Tournament as part of District Level Inter Zonal Competitions in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling held at Government Higher Secondary School, Domana, here.
Gandhi Nagar zone trounced Bishnah zone by (49-42) points to win the kabaddi boys U-17 title.
Earlier, in volleyball Under-17 girls final, Chowki Chora defeated Akhnoor by (2-1) sets, while in kabaddi Under-17 girls final, Akhnoor drubbed Jourian by 7 points (27-20).
In kabaddi Under-14 girls final, Akhnoor got better of Miran Sahib by 5 points to win the trophy, while in kho-kho Under-17 girls final, Akhnoor outplayed Bhalwal by 2 points (4-2).
In kho-kho Under-14 girls final, Akhnoor prevailed over Bhalwal by 3 points (5-2).
Director General Youth Services and Sports, Navin Aggarwal was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed prizes among the winners and runners up teams, while
Deputy Director, Ved Parkash and DYSSO Jammu Tirath Ram were also present.
