Ganga announces Rs 55 lakh for up-gradation of Industrial Estate Akhnoor

JAMMU, Nov 21: In order to address the problems of entrepreneurs, Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga today visited Industrial Estate, Akhnoor.
The Minister was accompanied by Vice Chairman J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans, D S Chib and MLA Akhnoor Rajiv Sharma.
The Industrial Estate in Akhnoor was established in 1977 on a piece of land of 29 kanals and has accommodated 22 entrepreneurs, who have established their business unites there.
On the occasion, entrepreneurs raised various issues pertaining to their business units. A memorandum of the demands was also submitted to the Minister, who assured them of redressing their genuine issues.
Responding to the demand of the local MLA and industrialists for the up-gradation of Industrial Estates, the Minister announced Rs. 55 lakh under “Tameer” scheme. He also directed the SDM Akhnoor to identify atleast 100 to 300 kanals of land for expansion of Industrial Estate. He also directed the officers of Industries Department to put in sincere efforts in making the non functional units operational and also undertake the development works in the Industrial Estate.
Among others, Joint Director Industries Jammu Mushtaq Ahmed, General Manager DIC Jammu Vinod Behnal, General Manager SICOP Rajesh Pandoh, Project Engineer SICOP Rajan Sharma along with officers and officials of DIC Jammu, entrepreneurs and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
