JAMMU, June 15: Wrestler Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab clinched the 101st Annual Nagrota Panj Grain Kesari Dangal Title by outplaying Rajesh Kumar of Delhi in the bout for first malli at Panj Grain, Nagrota, here today.
Dangal was organized by Panj Grain Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
Winner of the main bout, wrestler Gani was awarded handsome cash prize of Rs 14,000 by chief guest president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma who was accompanied by president Panj Grain Dangal Committee, Sarpanch Thoru Ram.
Runner-up wrestler, Rajesh Kumar received a cash prize of Rs 9,000 from Madan Lal and Sarpanch Bharat Singh.
In all, 60 bouts were played in this one day long dangal. The second main bout was played between Rehmat Ali of Mallerkotla and Sandeep of Delhi. This bout ended in a draw, Rs 12,000 was jointly awarded to both the wrestlers. Third bout went to Sukha of Rajasthan, who beat Mohd Soffiyan of Mallerkotla, while Sukha got Rs 6,000 cash prize, Soffiyan was presented Rs 4,000. 4th bout ended in a draw which was played between Sagar of Delhi ands Bagga of Mallerkotla. 5th bout was won by Kamaljot of Khanna who defeated Gulam Mohd of Gaziabad (UP) and 6th bout went to Sat Pal of Khanna, who beat Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhawal Jammu.
Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association and President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who gave away cash prizes to the wrestlers. SHO Nagrota OP Chib and Sarpanch Bharat Singh were the guests of honour. Sarpanch Rehmat Ali and Madan Lal were also present on the occasion.
