KATHUA, June 30:   The 3rd Annual Vishal Dangal organized by Jai Peer Baba Dangal Committee was held at Dadwada in tehsil Billawar other day.
As many as 150 wrestlers from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir and neighbouring States of Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Delhi participated in the one day mega event which witnessed about 100 bouts in a day.
The Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance & Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
The Minister, while speaking on the occasion, lauded the organizers for organizing such a mega event and said that the presence of such mammoth crowd to witness the Dangal was a proof of the success of the event. He said such events not only encourage the youth towards the traditional sports but also help them to channelize their energies in constructive way.
The winners of the  top 5 bouts (Mali)  of the wrestling event   were awarded a cash prize of Rs 51,000, Rs 31,000, Rs 21,000, Rs 21,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively.
Gani of Malerkotla clinched the top prize bout (Mali), whereas Sohni of Ludhiana ended up with second position. The third bout ended in adraw between Bhura of Pathankot and Gurvinder Singh of Amritsar, while Rafiq of Malerkotla won fourth and Fiza of Pathankot won fifth bout.
Dr Manohar Lal Sharma gave away the cash prizes to the winners and runners-up wrestlers.
President, Peer Baba Dangal Committee, Vikas Padha, Ajit Bawa, SHO Billawar, Insp. Naresh kumar, other members included Suresh Chander, Shambu Ram and Khurshid Alam Lone and huge number of people present on the occasion.
