Garh Premier League begins

SAMBA, May 26: Jhandi Cricket Club won the first match of Garh Premier League by defeating Mahavir Cricket Club Jatwal here today. The Garh Premier League was organized by Friends Cricket Club at Garh Mandi Ground.
Station House Officer (SHO) Samba Sandeep Charak was mainly present in the inaugural match of the league. He encouraged the players and started the competition. The first match was played between Jhandi Cricket Club and Mahavir Cricket Club Jatwal.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Jatwal’s team set a target of 103 runs in 10 overs, in which Kannu performed better and made 33 runs for the team in 12 balls, while Parveen also made 25 in 9 balls, putting the team in a strong position. Chasing the target of 103 runs, Jhandi Cricket Club achieved the target in the 9.2 over and gave victory to the team.
Tarun of the Jhandi team was awarded as the Man of the Match. While a total of 16 teams from different areas of Samba, Jammu and Kathua districts are participating in this competition, keeping in mind the summer season, it has been decided to hold all the matches in the evening. SHO Samba Sandeep Charak congratulated those who organized the competition and said that by having such competitions, the youth remain physically healthy and also stay away from bad habits like drugs.
