GBHSS Leh lifts 3rd Great Ladakh Quiz Contest trophy

JAMMU, June 19: The 3rd Great Ladakh Quiz Contest trophy was won by Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Leh with a margin of 10 points against Lamdon Senior Secondary School, Leh.
The contest organised by Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh and sponsored by KC Group of Institute, Nawasher, Punjab was held in Sindhu Sanskriti Hall, Ti-suru, Leh.
In total 17 higher secondary schools, 14 Government and 3 private schools participated in the quiz competition.
A team of experts from Education Department, Cultural Academy and CIBS was intensively involved in making this contest a great success by holding quiz competitions at different blocks of the district to get the final four teams.
CEC, Rigzin Spalbar announced a special price of Rs 5000 to the winning team and Rs 10,000 to the same school.
“The contest has caught up the imagination of the students and they seem to be devoting more time in polishing their general knowledge”, asserted Spalbar.
He added that in coming years he intends to take this contest to a higher level by inviting students from other districts to participate with the locals.
The event was hosted by Ambassador Deepak Vohra. It was attended by EC, Tourism, Shafi Lassu, Army officials, CEO and officials of Education Department, DIET and School Principals, teaching staffs from various schools and students in large number.
