GBSWA frames district, college body

UDHAMPUR, Oct 11: Gujjar Bakerwal Students’ Welfare Association (GBSWA) organised a meeting under its State president, Talib Hussain in Mini-Stadium here, wherein various problems faced by Gujjar Bakerwal students were discussed. The meeting also constituted Association’s district body and body for Government Degree College Udhampur.
Speaking on the occasion, Talib said that only 12% and 5% youth of the Country get chances to get higher education in colleges and universities, respectively, out of the total population of the world. But when we talk about Gujjar Bakerwal community in the matter of higher education, this percentage decreases to zero point something, he said, adding it is our prime duty to aware this rich cultured but downtrodden community about education and their rights and at the same time make pressure on Government to make policies in favour of them.
Later, in the presence of Talib and other GSBWA leaders, the body for district Udhampur was constituted, which comprised of Habib Ul Rehman as president, Qamar Ali as senior vice-president, Mohd Ashraf as vice-president and Mohd Jahangir as general secretary.
Besides District body, a body for Government Degree College, Udhampur, was also formed, which included Asgar Ali as president, Tariq Aziz as senior-vice-president, Saddam Hussain as vice-president, Ghulam Mustafa and Mohd Iqbal as general secretaries, Tahir Mehmood as joint secretary, Ali Mohd as secretary, Mohd Riyaz as press secretary and Mushtaq Ahmed as spokesperson.
