GCOE holds District level slogan, essay writing competition

JAMMU, Sept 27: In commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti, Government College of Education, Canal Road, Jammu, hosted a district-level Slogan Writing and Reel Making Competition. The event was part of a larger initiative led by the Higher Education Department, under the guidance of Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary Higher Education, to promote creative engagement and awareness of Gandhian principles among students. Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Parihar, Principal of Government College of Education, served as the chief guest and delivered an inspiring address. She also commended the event’s organizers and participants for their exceptional work and dedication.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Rajinder Kaur, Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, Prof. Sarita Dogra, Prof. Deepali and Prof. Ramandeep Karalia. The event was judged by the faculty members of the higher education Dr. Bindu Sharma (GDC Hiranagar), Dr. Payali Arora (GDC Udhampur), Dr Shaveta Sharma (GDC Udhampur) and Professor Sanjeet Singh (GDC Udhampur).
Winners of essay writing competition were Chanpreet Kour from GCW Parade, Harshpreet Singh from GDC RS Pura and Aayushvi Sharma from GCOE stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and winners of Slogan Writing Competition were Raksha Gurung from GCOE, Syona Gupta from GCW Gandhi Nagar and Sonia Thakur from GDC Nagrota stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively
The winners will now move on to represent the district at the division level. This competition exemplifies the Higher Education Department’s commitment to fostering a sense of creativity and civic duty in students, encouraging them to internalize the values of Mahatma Gandhi.
