GCOE Jammu organises Intra-College Badminton C’ship

JAMMU, Feb 15: Department of Physical Education and Sports, Government College of Education, Jammu (GCOE) has organised a one day Badminton Intra mural competition for Men and Women at College campus.
The competition aimed to promote competitive spirit among students. The program started with the welcome address by Prof. Ramandeep Kralia, HOD, Physical Education. Dr Zubair, Dean, School of Teacher Education, Cluster University of Jammu was the chief guest for the event, Prof. Satish Sharma, In-charge Principal GCOE, Jammu was the guest of honour and the special guest for the event was Dr Rajinder Kour, Coordinator B.Ed, M.Ed. Around 80 students participated in the event. The event was organized in two phases.
In the first phase, the women’s team exhibited remarkable prowess, with Kavita emerging as the triumphant winner, showcasing outstanding skills and determination. Following closely behind, Rumla Khan secured the runner-up position. In the second phase, the boys’ team delivered an exhilarating display of athleticism and skill.
Akash Bhatt emerged as the ultimate victor, whereas Ajay Singh secured the runner-up position, reflecting outstanding sportsmanship and dedication to excellence. The whole event was organised by the students of Health and Physical Education, GCOE, Jammu under the supervision of Prof. Ramandeep Kralia. Shubharti, student of B.Ed. Semester 3 acted as the anchor for the event.
The winners of the event were facilitated by trophies and medals whereas all the participating students received certificates of participation. The programme concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Dr Rakesh Bharti. The faculty members who were present at the event were Dr Shalini Rana, Dr Balwan Singh, Prof. Sarita Dogra, Prof. Chanchal Singh, Prof. Priyanka Mahajan, Dr Suraj Prakash, Prof. Roopa Kumari and Dr Sonam Gandotra.
