GCOE organises lecture on career guidance & counselling

JAMMU, May 30: Career Guidance Counselling and Placement Cell of Government College of Education (GCOE), Jammu organised a lecture on “Career Guidance and Counseling with special reference to NET and SLET examination”, by Prof BL Thusoo, Prof of Education.
Principal of the College Prof Kaushal Smotra addressed the gathering by saying that right career guidance provides right direction and right decision at the right time to choose a career leads one towards success. “It helps us to take proper preparation for a job and help us avoid confusion among myriads of job options”, she added.
Prof CL Shivgotra, senior faculty member of the college presented the welcome address.
The lecture was followed by competition among BEd students to design ‘Curriculum Vitae’ based on the lecture delivered  by Shagun Choudhury, MBA student of Business School, Jammu University, in the earlier programme.
The first prize was bagged by Sneha Bhat, while second prize was secured by Kokila Kohli and the third prize was conferred to Amanpreet Kour.
Among others present were Dr Neelam Dhar, Convener Placement Cell, Dr Piyali Arora, Convener Career Guidance Counseling Cell, Prof Anju Bala, Dean Student Welfare, Dr Raj Singh Narania, Dr Rajinder Kour, member Placement Cell, Dr Anil Verma, Prof Deep Bangotra and Prof Babulal Thakur.
In the end, vote of thanks was presented by Prof Ashu  Jolly.
