GCW Gandhi Nagar organizes awareness prog on food adulteration

Dignitaries lighting lamp to during awareness programme on food adulteration at GCW, Gandhi Nagar on Thursday.

JAMMU, Nov 21: PG Department of Food Science and Technology of Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar organized one day awareness programme on food adulteration to mark the celebrations of Anti Adulteration Day in collaboration with Science Club of the College.
Principal of the College Dr Kiran Bakshi inaugurated the programme by presenting the welcome address. She also enlightened the students about the importance of healthy food, which plays a major role in the formulation of the personality, health and psychological behaviour of a person.
Dr Satish Gupta, Controller, Drugs and Food delivered the lecture on adulteration.
Dr Sanjeev Gupta, Assistant Controller, Drug and Food demonstrated the tests of detection of adulterants in food.
On the occasion, students of PG Food Science and Technology gave power point presentations and also participated in symposium, displayed charts and conducted demonstrations of common adulterants in food.
In the end, Dr Anuradha Gandotra, HoD, Food Science and Technology, GCW, Gandhi Nagar presented vote of thanks.
