JAMMU, Oct 24: Securing a total of 29 points, Government College for Women (GCW) Parade won the title trophy of the Inter-Collegiate Wrestling Championship, organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu at its Gymnasium Hall, here today.
Earlier, in 48 kg category, Shivangi of PG Department, University of Jammu clinched gold, while Sakshi of GCW Parade bagged silver and the bronze medal went to Kanika of GCW Gandhi Nagar and Sobinya of GDC Bishnah.
In 53 kg, the gold medal went to Yashika Jamwal of GCW Parade, silver was bagged by Renu Devi of PG Department and the bronze medals were shared by Vishali of GDC Bishnah and Skalzang Dolma of GCW Gandhi Nagar.
In 55 kg, Shallu Devi of GCW Gandhi Nagar won gold and Sunaina of GCW Parade bagged silver, while the bronze medal was claimed by Sapna of GDC Bishnah.
In 58 kg, the gold medal went to Juhi Charak of GCW Parade and silver was clinched by Nidhi of PG Department, while Shoba Sharma of GCW Gandhi Nagar claimed bronze.
In 60 kg, Juhi Jamwal of GCW Parade clinched gold and Shazia of GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged silverm while in 63 kg, the gold medal was bagged by Babita Kumari of GCW Gandhi Nagar and silver was claimed by Kusam Rani of GCW Parade.
In 69 kg, the gold medal went to Jaspreet Kour of GCW Parade and silver was clinched by Hem Lata of GCW Gandhi Nagar.
Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu distributed prizes among the winners and runner-up teams.
Jai Bharat, Bansi Lal Tidyal, Mulkh Raj Sharma and Sahil Sharma officiated the championship.
