JAMMU, Oct 13: Government College for Women (GCW), Parade, Jammu held elections for constituting Student Executive Body for the session 2012-2013, here today.
The proceedings were carried out by Dr Aruna Dubey, Dean, Student Welfare Committee in the presence of Dr Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the College and observers Prof Neelam Mohan, Dr Shashi Koul and Dr Veena Pandita.
Dr Nischintak Sharma and Prof Narayan Dutt, members of the Advisory Committee were also present on the occasion.
All the elected class representatives and volunteers assembled to elect Student Council which comprised of 10 members.
Saransha Oswal of BA Part-III was elected to much coveted post of the President. Bisat Tariq and Sakshi both from Part-III were elected as General Secretary and Volunteer Head respectively. Neha Sharma, Ashna Sharma and Malvika Sharma from Part-II got elected as Vice Presidents from Arts, Commerce and Science streams respectively. The post of Joint Secretary was shared by Sakshi, Megha Dogra and Supriya Salaria from Part-I Arts, Commerce and Science streams respectively. Rudhra Sharma held the post of Treasurer.
