JAMMU, Apr 22: An Inter-College Symposium was organized on the topic” ‘Invest in Your Planet- Design your Future’ in Govt College for Women Parade Ground Evanshi Sharma from GCW Parade secured first position while second place was clinched by Jatin Sharma from. Dogra Degree College whereas 3rd position went to Tarwinder Kour of GCW Parade. The event was presided over by Prof SK Dhar, convenor, IQAC.
A beautification drive was organized in the college in which students participated very enthusiastically.
Afterwards, Dr. Rakesh Atri, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu who was the invited speaker delivered an interactive lecture on the topic ‘Ozone- from Discovery to Recovery’.
He explained the successful recovery of Ozone in very simple terms with a well articulated presentation. Harsha Gupta who was the second speaker gave a presentation on Biomass and Carbon Storage.
The event was coordinated by Prof. Priya Darshni,Dr Harmanmeet, Prof. Neha Gupta and Dr. Akanksha Koushal, Faculty members, Deptt. of Environmental Sciences.The welcome address was given byProf. PriyaDarshni, Head Department of Environmental Sciences.The event was concluded by vote of thanks by Prof. Neha Gupta.
Dr S P Sarswat, Principal guided the event.
