JAMMU, Sept 28: The Department of Zoology, GCW, Parade organised an awareness lecture under the Star College Scheme, on the topic “Animals, their benefits and the atrocities met by them under the hands of human beings”.
The resource person on the occasion was Malvika Kalra, the founder member of “Rehai” an initiative to free the animals from agonies due to humans. The speaker in her address gave a detailed account of the animals and the cruelty met by them. She laid emphasis on the need to stop killings of the animals for meat, fur, hike and other animal products.
The principal of the college, Dr Hemla Aggrawal, in her address lauded the efforts of Department of Zoology for organising the lecture. She stressed on the need of organising such events in future. The others who were present during the address were the faculty members of Departments of Botany, EVS and Sociology.
