GCW Parade organizes Workshop

JAMMU, Dec 14: One day Workshop on ‘Source Waste Management’ was organized by Department of Botany Government College for Women (GCW) Parade, here today.
During the workshop, a lecture was delivered by Anuradha, Scientist, In-charge Electronic Waste and Municipal Solid Waste, working in State Pollution Board, Jammu.
Later, a demonstration was given by her on how to make organic manure from solid waste of kitchen, garden etc.
Earlier, Professor Seema Kotwal, presented a welcome address, in which she strongly emphasized upon the proper management of the waste in order to reduce its adverse effect on the environment.
Prof Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the College also discussed the importance of waste management as important need of the hour.
The vote of thanks was presented by Prof (Dr) Anuradha Pandoh, in which she thanked the resource person for beautifully demonstrating how to convert different wastes into a useful resource.
The other dignitaries who were present on the occasion were Dr Shallu Sambyal, Prof Ganjit Singh, Dr Bacchan Lal, Dr Sandhya Bharadwaj, Prof Hardeep Kour, Prof Yogesh Kumar Sharma, Prof Sakshi, Prof Bharti and Prof Ruhi.
