GCW Udhampur organises Inter-College Symposium

JAMMU, Feb 4: To enrich the knowledge of students about the genetically modified food, Science Club for Government College for Women Udhampur organised an Inter-College Symposium on the topic ‘Genetically Modified Food-boon or bane’ in collaboration with J&K State Science Technology and Innovation Council Udhampur.
The Symposium was held under the convenership of Prof BP Singh.
The participating Colleges included GCW Udhampur, GDC Reasi, GDC Ramnagar, Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur and Bharti College of Education Udhampur.
Prof Ashni Devi, Prof BP Singh and Prof Sumita Rao were the adjudicators of the event.
Afida of GDC Udhampur bagged 1st prize, while Arjun Modi of GDC Ramnagar and Raghunandita of GCW Udhampur claimed 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. The consolation prizes were shared by Shenaz Kousar of Bhartiya College of Education, Harsha Bhardwaj and Devanshi of GCW Udhampur.
Principal GCW Udhampur Dr Chander Shekhar was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes among the winners. He lauded the prize winners for their good show in the event.
Earlier, BP Singh presented welcome address, while Riya Sharma conducted proceedings of the programme.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Prof Sudhir Singh, Dr Ashok Sharma, Dr Renu Bala, Prof Shallu Jasrotia and Prof Sunil Magotra.
