GCW Udhampur organizes lecture on AIDS awareness

UDHAMPUR, Dec 18: The Red Ribbon Club of Government College for Women (GCW), Udhampur under the convenership of Prof Ashni Devi, HoD Botany organized a lecture on AIDS awareness, here.
The chief guest on the occasion was Prof K S Koushal, College Principal.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that the students are the best ambassadors to spread the message among masses, adding the disease can be tackled only when mass consciousness will be created.
The detailed lecture on AIDS, elaborating its causes, symptoms and different stages followed by a quiz was delivered by Prof Ravinder Kour, Assistant Prof. in Physics.
In her lecture she also emphasized the immediate steps that need to be taken to tackle the problem.
Dr Bhavnaish Chand, Dr Arun Sharma, Prof Brinder Kumar, Prof Sumita Rao, Dr Shalini Sharma, Prof Neetu Raina, Prof Swarna Bhougal, Dr Mool Raj and Prof Sanjay Kumar were present during the lecture.
The Red Ribbon Club had also organized Poster Making Competition earlier.
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions were bagged by Mannat Sabsal of B.Sc. Part-II, Surbhi Sharma of B.Sc Part-III and Saima Akhtar B.Sc Part-II respectively.
