GD Goenka launches Ultimate Frisbee for students

JAMMU, May 19: GD Goenka Public School Jammu, governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust becomes the first school in J&K to initiate the launch of Ultimate Frisbee a self-refereed, non contact game and a mix gendered sport in India.
Ultimate has been mentoring GK MAD ultimate team comprised of young school-children from Delhi. They have been passionately taking the sport of ‘Ultimate’ into the masses. Ultimate is a highly athletic sport with a mix of fun and exercise. Despite being a competitive sport no body contact is made.
The game enhances Social Emotional Learning (SEL) by inculcating core values of Responsible decision making, Self awareness, Self management leading to a strong and sturdy development of every player of the game.
As ultimate is a self-refereed sport, the onus of playing with the right spirit is on every player.
Ultimate not only inculcates all round development of body and mind but it teaches to appreciate, discuss, give and share feedback and sit together at the end in spirit circle thus developing a bond which only strengthens with time.
The Director Sanya Bansal and Principal of the school Rajesh Rathore appreciated Dr Paras Khanna, the man behind this movement in Jammu and lauded the efforts of the Ultimate and GK MAD for their 2-day session in the School wherein all the Goenkans received a set of high values via this game.
