JAMMU, Jan 15: Govern-ment Degree College Akhnoor defeated Bhargava Degree College by 27 runs in the Inter-College Cricket Tournament, here today.
Winning the toss and batting first, GDC Akhnoor scored 115 runs. Rohit Sharma, Sachiv Sharma, Sharan and Vishal Sharma contributed 18, 16, 13 and 13 runs respectively. Govind and Riaz Ahmed claimed 2 wickets each, while Arjun took 2 wickets and Sourav one.
In reply, Bhargava Degree College scored 88 runs in 20 overs, thus lostthe match by 27 runs. Naresh top scored with 19 runs, while Sachin Bhati and Arjun contributed 18 and 11 runs respectively. Rahul Kumar was the pick of the bowlers for GDC Akhnoor who took 3 important wickets, while Sunil Kumar and Sachiv Kumar claimed one wicket.
