BILLAWAR, Jan 10: Outplaying Barriel Cricket Club by a margin of 36 runs in the summit clash, GDC Billawar lifted the title trophy of the Cricket Tournament which concluded here today.
Thirty two teams drawn from Billawar and adjoining areas participated in the 5-day tournament, which had begun on January 6, 2018.
Vikram Singh Bhadwal, PDP Youth leader was chief guest, while Sarpanch Akhter Ali along with Senior Citizens and Village heads were present on the occasion.
The chief guest and other dignitaries distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams during the valedictory function.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bhadwal advised the youth to involve themselves in sports and other allied activities to be fit and healthy.
He assured the players’ community that he will take the matter of the development of ground at Barriel with Secretary, J&K State Sports Council and hoped the same will be developed soon.
