JAMMU, Nov 13: Keeping up its resolve to continue “ Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” GDC Dharmari organized a cleanliness drive and awareness rally today.
Dr T S Sharma, Principal of the college was the chief guest, where as Tehsildar, Thurroo, Sunit Singh was guest of honour on the occasion to flag off the rally.
During his address Dr T S Sharma stressed upon the students to make cleanliness a part of their daily routine. He reiterated that teaching spaces should have a positive ambience for students; playgrounds and open spaces should be kept in neat and clean condition by the participation of both the students and the administration.
Sunit Singh entrusted upon the students to act as clean ambassadors and urged them to guide innocent villagers in their neighbourhood to keep their surroundings in neat, clean and healthy conditions for the better future of the villagers in general and country in particular.
The rally started from the college campus situated at ITI building and marched through the market of Dharmari, up to the new college site.
Those who were present on the occasion included Dr Pervaiz Ahmed, Zakir Hussain, Khalid Sajid, Bindu Devi, Ganesh Dutt, Jetinder Bakshi, Mohd Iqba and staff members of the college.
The programme was co-ordinated by convenor (IQAC) Dr Chander Mohan, Assistant Prof English GDC Dharmari.
