Inter-Collegiate Tournaments at JU
*GCET, GDC Billawar dominate Chess matches on Day-1

JAMMU, Sept 24: Inter Collegiate Basketball, Chess and Cricket Tournaments were organized in different venues of the University of Jammu here today.
In Basketball (Men), GDC, Hiranagar beats ASCOMS Sidhra by 17-14, GCET Jammu defeats MBS College by 20-18 and YCET Jammu outplayed GDC Udhampur by (23-14). GDC Samba got walkover against GDC Reasi.
Dr Amit Sharma, Assistant Registrar, University of Jammu was the special guest on the occasion, who interacted with the players alongwith Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, Ravish Vaid and Vikas Karlopia.
The matches were officiated by Ranbir Singh, Vaneet Pangotra, Manoj Kumar Solanki, Harmanpreet Kour, Jasmeena Chib and Kamini Chib.
In Chess (Women), GCET, Jammu team beats GDC Ramnagar by 4-0 points. Monika beats Jyoti, Anushka beats Samta Sharma, Sonali defeats Sulakshna Devi and Mansi beats Nisha Ram.
In Chess (Men), GDC Billawar beats GDC Doda by 3-1. Nikhil of Billawar College beats Vishavjeet Singh, Himanshu Gupta beats Waseem Ahmed of GDC Doda, Mohammad Anjum beats Parshotam Singh of GDC Doda and Manbhavak Khajuria of Billawar lost to Aaqib Javid of GDC Doda.
Sanjeev Jamwal, Ravi Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Balbir Singh Chib, Kajal Premi, Jai Bharat and Pardeep Kumar were present on the occasion.
The matches were officiated by SP Sharma, Sushil Sawhney and PD Singh.
In Cricket, PG (Arts) Ju defeated GDC Akhnoor by 5 wickets, GDC Reasi registered win over GDC Billawar by 4 wickets, GDC Kathua beats The Law School Ju by 4 wickets and GDC Samba registered win over GDC Doda by 15 runs.
