JAMMU, Nov 30: Dr Gulshan Bassan from the Department of Political Science, Government Degree College (GDC) Kalakote, Rajouri, presented a research paper at an international conference on “Sociology in South Asia” through the online mode.
A statement said that Dr Bassan’s research paper titled “Watal Community in Kashmir: Neglected by Society, Government, and Media.”
It said that the two-day International Conference was jointly conducted from November 28-29, 2023 by the South Asian Sociological Society and Department of Sociology, PG Research Centre, Deogiri College Maharashtra, in collaboration with the Department of Sociology, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow.
Italian sociologist, Prof Roberto Cipriani, Prof KL Sharma, former VC of Rajasthan University Jaipur, Prof Abha Chowhan among others were the plenary speakers in the conference where 73 scholars from different parts of the country presented their research papers.
