GDC Kathua celebrates Valedictory Function of “Quami Ekta Week”

KATHUA, Nov 29: The NSS units of Govt Degree College, Kathua organized “Quami Ekta Week” in which different events were organised to inculcate the idea of National Integration among students.
Slogan writing competition, Rally on National Integration, Cleanliness drive, Fund collection for Communal Harmony on flag day, Patriotic Song Competition, Poster Making competition and quiz competition on Life and work of Vivekananda were the main highlights of the programme.
The Valedictory Function was organized in College auditorium in which Mohan Lal, SSP, Kathua was the chief guest.
In his address he congratulated the NSS volunteers for organizing the programme which inculcates the patriotic and national thinking in youth.
He said the unity and solidarity of India can lead the country to progress and development and that depends on the youth of the nation.
Dr Nater Singh, Principal, Govt Degree College, Kathua applauded the efforts of NSS volunteers and programme officers for celebrating the National Integration and Communal Harmony Week.
The welcome address was presented by Prof Raj Kiran. The report of the week celebrations was presented by Dr Ram Singh.
The NSS Volunteers presented a cultural bonanza which includeD Ganesh Sututi, Patriotic song, Dogri song and Rajsathani and Punjabi dance.
The prizes were distributed by the chief guest to the volunteers who distinguish themselves in the various competitions organized during the week.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr Suram Singh.
200 NSS volunteers took part in week long programmes.
Among the faculty members Prof PK Rao, Dr Avinash Gupta, Prof Anirudh Sharma, Dr Tejinder Kour, Prof Sumnesh, Prof Jasvinder Singh, Prof Subh Kumar and Prof Kailash Sharma were present on the occasion.
