GDC Kathua felicitates students for excellence

KATHUA, Oct 26: Ten students of Govt. Degree College (Boys) Kathua were felicitated by the Principal of the College Dr BL Gupta in an impressive function in the College premises, here today.
These students had participated in one-day Inter-College Seminar on October 6, 2015 and Inter-College Poster Making/ Presentation Competition on October 7, 2015 on the topic “Wild-Life Conservation” and “Save Wildlife – Save Posterity”, organized by Govt. College for Women, Udhampur in collaboration with J&K State Council for Science, Technology and Innovation, Deptt. of Science and Technology, Govt of India.
The College students brought laurels and honour for the college by clinching three positions, three consolations and four certificates of merits in both the competitions. In the Inter-College Seminar, Atika Sharma of B.Sc. Part-III secured first prize, while Vikram Quanth, also a student of B.Sc. Part-III got the consolation prize.
In the Poster making/ Presentation Competition, Rahul Sharma and Monika Sharma, both students of Semester-III stole the show by capturing first and third prizes respectively. Preetika of Part-III and Shreya Sharma of Semester-III got the consolation prizes. Mohd. Tahir Awan, Arushi Mahajan and Anamika Sharma of Part-III were also honoured by certificates of merit.
Dr. B. L. Gupta congratulated the students for their excellent performance in the competitions and lauded the efforts of Dr. Ram Krishan and Dr. Ruchi Sharma for preparing an excellent team of students for the same.
Finally, Principal honoured the students with trophies and certificates of appreciation. Felicitation ceremony was witnessed by Dr PK Rao, Dr Namrata Gupta, Dr Suraya Partap Singh and other faculty members and students.
