GDC Kathua organizes function to welcome Cadets

KATHUA, Sept 19: A formal welcome function was organized in the premises of Govt Degree College, Kathua, to welcome seven cadets of 1st J&K Armd. Sqn. NCC, namely Cadets Jagdev Singh, Rajat Khana, Mohd Parvez, Sumit Sharma, Rampal and Atul Benjiwal, who returned back to their native institution after attending “Advance Leadership Camp” at Malout , Bathinda, Panjab from September 5 to September 16, 2014.
The cadets were received warmly by the Principal of the college Dr B L Gupta along with the Associate NCC Officer of 1st J&K Armd. Sqn. NCC, Prof Sandeep Chaudhary.
These seven cadets were the part of NCC Contingent that represented the NCC Directorate of  Jammu and Kashmir in this National Level Camp.
During this camp, these cadets won the Tug of War competition  organized by the host NCC Directorate of Punjab State.
During this Camp these NCC Cadets visited various places of historical importance such as “Hussainiwala International  Border”, “The Electricity Power Plant ” at Bathinda, etc. The NCC Cadets also interacted with the cadets of other  States.
The Cadets brought laurels to the institution by winning 8 medals including 4 gold and 4 silver. Cadet Jagdev Singh was declared as “Best Cadet” of the Camp.
Dr Gupta and Prof Chaudhary spoke on the occasion and lauded the efforts of Cadets for this achievement.
These Cadets shared their experiences with the other NCC Cadets of the College who were present in the function.
The medals and certificates were distributed by  Dr Gupta among the Cadets.
