JAMMU, Feb 26: A quiz competition was organized by Department of Physics of Govt. Degree College, Kathua in Conference Hall of the College, here today.
Dr B L Gupta, Principal GDC Kathua was the chief guest on the occasion, while Prof Anirudh Sharma, HoD Physics presented the welcome address.
In his address, Dr B L Gupta stressed upon the need of such type of events for creating interest in physics among the students.
Five teams of four students each participated in the quiz. The teams were named on renowned Indian Scientists including Sir C V Raman, Chandra Shekhar, Kalpana Chawala, Homi J. Bhaba and J.C. Bose.
All the teams performed effectively in the competition. The competition among the teams remained quite close.
On the basis of their performance, team Sir C. V. Raman adjudged at first position, Team Kalpana Chawala got second position and team Homi J. Bhaba secured third position. Prof. Neha and Prof. Sunaina executed the role of scorer.
Among the senior faculty members Prof. Jasvinder Singh, Prof. Shub Kumar, Dr. Suram Singh, Prof. Naresh Sharma and Prof. Shivalli Sharma were also present in the function.
The proceedings of the function were conducted by Prof. Raj Kiran and Prof. Mona Sethi.
