GDC Marh, NIPAM hold workshop on IPR

JAMMU, June 13:The Department of Commerce and Economics of Government Degree College Marh in association with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (RGNIIPM) under NIPAM, organized two days online national workshop Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Patents and Design Filing.
The workshop was coordinated by Prof. Surbhi Gupta (HOD Commerce) and Dr Priya Sharma (HOD Economics) under the supervision of college Principal Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul who inaugurated the proceedings of the workshop.
He emphasized the need for awareness of intellectual property rights among students and faculty for the benefit of society in the long term. Prof. Surbhi Gupta welcomed the resource person Kumar Raju (Assistant Controller of Patents and Designs, RGNIIPM Nagpur) who presented a detailed powerpoint presentation of the subject.
He described in detail various aspects of IPRs like patents, inventions, SICLD, copyrights, trademarks, designs, ,geographical indications, trade secrets, types of claim or claims and filing process along with its implications and procedure for registration.
Kumar Raju also handled queries of Principal, Faculty and Students in an efficient manner. Feedback form was also circulated and filled by participants.
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr Priya Sharma. E-Certificates of appreciation shall be issued to all the participants of the college from NIPAM. The technical support was extended by Mohit Kalotra (MTS) coordinated by students Ketan Kumar, Dhruv, Atinder, Sandeep Mottan, Nandveer Choudhary, Kajal Puri, Janvi and Heena.
