GDC Nagrota hosts cricket matches

JAMMU, Mar 27: The cricket ground at Khel Gaon, Nagrota, hosted two exciting friendly matches between the students and staff of Govt. Degree College Nagrota, under the Fit India Initiative. The matches aimed to encourage physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the college community.
In the first match, the student team won the toss and chose to field. The staff team posted a low total of 58 runs, which the student team easily chased down, winning by 9 wickets. Rishab Singh, a Semester 6 student, played a key role with an unbeaten knock of 42 runs and was named Man of the Match.
The second match was a much closer contest. The staff team batted first and set a target of 151 runs. The students fought hard but fell short, scoring 139 runs for 9 wickets. Dr. Arvind Sharma was declared as Man of the Match on scoring a quick 65 runs and grabbing 3 wickets also.
