JAMMU, Sept 26: Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua organized Inter-College Declamation, Painting, Poster and Quiz Competitions.
Principal Government Degree College, Kathua Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia was the chief guest on the occasion.
The welcome address was presented by Dr Seema Malpotra, Convener of Literary Activities and Head Department of English who outlined the purpose and structure of the event.
The events received enthusiastic participation from different colleges of Kathua District and a plethora of interactive and interesting activities were performed by the students.
The events were judged by the judges from various colleges. The judges for the Declamation Competition were Prof Romika Bassin, Prof Pawan and Dr Seema. The judges for the Painting and Poster Competitions were Prof Babita Jamwal, Prof Rakesh Sharma and Prof Ritu Bhagat.
First position in the category of Declamation was given to Neha Kumari, GDC Kathua, 2nd position went to Sukriti Bhadwal from GDC Billawar and 3rd position was secured by Komal Sharma from GDC Hiranagar. The first prize in painting and poster completions was given to Diksha Sharma from GDC Kathua, 2nd position went to Rawani Jasrotia from GDC Hiranagar and 3rd position was secured by Diksha Mehra from GCW Kathua. The 1st position in the category of Quiz competition went to Meenakshi Thakur from GDC Kathua, 2nd position was secure by Vishu Devi from GCW Kathua and 3rd position went to Sparsh Sharma from GDC Hiranagar.
The event was appraised by the senior faculty members including Prof Jasvinder Singh, Prof Rakesh Singh and Prof Rachna and other faculty members Dr Poonam, Prof Esha, Dr Kamaldeep Singh and Dr Pinki were also present. The events comparing was done by Dr. Eva Sharma. The event was convened by Dr Seema Malpotra, Convener of Literary Activities and Head Department of English with the support of Committee Members Prof Raj Kiran, Dr Anupma Arora, Dr Shub Kumar, Dr Chetna Gupta, Dr Ambica, Prof Ram Krishan, Prof Manmohan Singh, Dr Eva Sharma and Dr Nitasha Baloria.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof Raj Kiran Sharma.
