JAMMU, Nov 1: A Symposium and Poster Making Competition on ‘Social, Economic and Political Empowerment of Women in Society’ was organized by Women Development Cell, GDC Paloura, here today.
Various speakers presented their views on Women Empowerment emphasizing the role of women in the society and house hold activities and their being indispensable to the family life as such.
Students prepared very meaningful and attractive posters on the subjects depicting the value of women and their miseries.
Saksham, Risha and Manpreet bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the symposium while Miss. Amrita Pawar, Miss Radhu and Mr. Abhishek were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in the poster making.
Principal of the College, Dr Savitri Sharma along with other staff members attended the event and distributed prizes among the winners.
Prof Anuradha Choudhary, Prof Pooja Sharma and Prof Sabina Bashir organized the activity and Prof Swati Bhagat compeered the event.
Prof Veena Sumbria and Narayani Jamwal (Sports Director), Prof Anita Jamwal and Prof Shaista Ajaz adjudged the respective activities.
