GDC Poonch faces MAM College in hockey summit clash today

JAMMU, Oct 17: Government Degree college (GDC) Poonch would lock horns with Government MAM College Jammu in the title clash of the Inter-Collegiate Hockey (Men) Tournament at University Hockey Field, here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, GDC Poonch thrashed PG Arts team by five goals to one (5-1) in an easy contest. Amandeep Singh (15th minute), Tarvinder Singh (31st minute), Navjot Singh (50th minute), Kapil Sharma (57th minute) and Mohd Shokat (60th minute) were the goal scorers for GDC Poonch, while Amit Sharma was the lone scorer for PG team, who netted it in 18th minute of the match.
Prof GL Sharma, Principal GDC Poonch was the chief guest on the occasion, who interacted with the players of both the teams in presence of Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Meanwhile, in the second semifinal match played today, MAM College scripted a narrow win by a solitary goal over GDC Kathua to make way for the summit clash. Skipper Tejinder Pal Singh was the lone scorer from MAM College.
HS Chib, former Physical Director and veteran hockey player was the chief guest on the occasion, who interacted with players of both the teams.
