POONCH, Mar 7: Government Degree College Poonch organized symposium under the auspices of Gandhi Global Family, here.
The symposium was held on the topic, ‘Gandhi’s Philosophy of Truth and Non Violence and its Relevance in the Present Scenario’.
The function was presided over by Prof Tajinder Singh, while SSP Poonch, JS Johar was the chief guest on the occasion and Principal GDC Mendhar, Prof Shabir Hussain Shah was the guest of honour.
Padamshree, SP Verma also graced the occasion with his presence. The participating Colleges included GDC Poonch, GDC Mendhar and GDC Surankote.
Saika Sharief Khan of GDC Poonch bagged first position, while Ashfaq Ahmed of GDC Poonch got second place and the third and 4th spot went to Idrees Ahmed of GDC Surankote and Nighat Are of GDC Mendhar respectively.
Cash prizes of Rs 5000, 3000 and 2000 was presented to the winners of first, second and third positions respectively.
