RAJOURI, Dec 16: Government Degree College (GDC) Rajouri today organized a symposium on Women Empowerment under the patronage of its Principal Dr J A Qazi, here.
All the staff and students participated in it.
Prof Javed Mughal HoD English and Prof M R Sharma, HoD Zoology also spoke on the occasion.
Prof Mohd Farooq Mirza, Prof Bashir Ahmed and Prof Raheela Mushtaq were the adjudicators of the event.
The first prize went to Sushant Sharma, while the second and third positions were bagged by Amir Amin and Arushi Khajuria respectively.
On this occasion the participants and toppers of the essay contest held earlier were also felicitated by Principal, Dr J A Qazi.
Dr Qazi in his presidential address highlighted the place and position of women in the modern society. He cited many references from the scriptures and philosophies to inspire female folk to realize their innate potential and do miracles in so many domains.
The vote of thanks was presented by Prof Asia Bhat, while the proceedings of the programme were conducted by participant Arushi Khajuria.
