SAMBA, Aug 16: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh observed International Youth Day with a series of impactful events organized by the Red Ribbon Club (RRC). Under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the celebrations aimed to raise awareness and engage students in health and wellness initiatives. The day featured a vibrant walkathon and a creative poster-making competition.
The walkathon, which saw enthusiastic participation from Semester-III and Semester-V students, took place in the vicinity of the college. Participants carried banners and placards advocating for youth empowerment and health awareness. Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Convener of RRC, encouraged students to actively engage in the event, emphasizing the importance of their involvement.
The poster-making competition, themed “HIV/AIDS,” provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity. Judged by Dr. Snobar, Prof. Brham Dutt, and Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, the competition recognized outstanding contributions. Alisha and Ruhee from Semester-V, and Gurmeet Kaur from Semester-III, secured the top three positions, while Anjali and Aruna received consolation prizes. Winners were awarded certificates of appreciation for their exceptional work.
