UDHAMPUR, Oct 15: Government Degree College Ramnagar organised first ever Inter-Collegiate Dogri symposium on the topic ‘Dogri Sikho, Dogri Sikhao, Dogri Bachao, Duggar Bachao’ with great fervor, here today.
MLA Ramnagar, Harshdev Singh was the chief guest on the occasion.
The programme started with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest, Principal of the College and other dignitaries, which was followed by a melodious recital of Saraswati Vandhana by Neelam, Aayushi, Urvashi and others.
Earlier, Prof Kewal Kumar Coordinator of the event presented welcome address in which he highlighted the necessity and key features of the programme.
Meanwhile, Tanabi from GDC Ramnagr, Samata Devi GDC Hiranagar and Rashu Rani from GDC Ramnagar secured first, second and third position respectively, while Pooja Mahajan from GDC Boys Udhampur was given consolation prize.
The judges of the event were Kuldeep Dubey (Abhishaap), a renowned poet, Uttam Chand Uttam, a famous Dogri writer and Rakesh Gupta, Principal Keshav Vidya Kendar, RGR.
Students presented Dogri Cultural items like Group Dance on Sunne di Pakhi by Anita and Nisha, Group Dance Peengan by Neha and others, Dogri Geetru by Rashpaul and others, Dogri Biyah by Tanvie Sharma, Smiley Vats and others and a heart throbbing special performance by Renowned artist Master Rumaloo Ram and his team.
Harsh Dev Singh while speaking on the occasion assured the College authorities for best possible help for its progress..
