JAMMU, Jan 31: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar today sailed into the semifinal by defeating PG Law & Science by 19 runs in the ongoing Inter-College Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at Varsity ground, here.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, GDC Ramnagar scored a decent total of 146 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Jeevan top scored with 31 runs, while Tilk Raj and Rohit Sharma contributed 23 and 22 runs to the total, respectively. For PG Law & Science, Vikram Chib was the pick of the bowlers who bagged 3 wickets in his 4-over spell, while Arun, Mukesh and Shahrat claimed one wicket each.
In reply, PG Law & Science managed to score 127 runs in stipulated 20 overs and thus lost the match by a margin of 19 runs. Arun scored highest 32 runs for PG Law & Science while Varun and Vikram contributed 13 and 11 runs to the total, respectively. For GDC Ramnagar, Ajesh and Parveen bagged 2 wickets each while Jaswinder, Tilk and Rohit took 1 wicket each.
