GDC Samba holds declamation contest on ‘Peace and Non-violence’

SAMBA, Sept 26: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with Literary Committee of Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College (PPNDGDC), Samba organised District level Inter-Collegiate declamation contest on ‘Peace and Non-violence’.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing GDC Vijaypur, GDC Purmandal, GDC Ghagwal and GDC Ramgarh. Coordinator IQAC, Dr. Joginder Singh welcomed the participating colleges and their representatives.
Prof. (Dr) Twinkle Suri, Principal of the host College, exhorted the young learners to imbibe the Gandhian values in letter and spirit. She further emphasized on the importance of Gandhian philosophy for a productive, progressive and harmonious social order.
The panel of Judges included Prof. Seema Sharma, HoD Education (GDC Ramgarh), Prof. Vani Avasthi, HOD English (GDC Ghagwal) and Dr. Kamaljeet, HoD Hindi (GDC Samba).
The function was anchored by Seema and Prof. Rashu Sharma. Riya Devi from GDC, Ghagwal was adjudged the winner who will further represent Samba district for the third stage Divisional Level Declamation competition. Alongside, Department of History under the guidance of Prof Purvaiya Hans, HOD History organized a skit on ‘Society and Truth’ as well as screened a slideshow on Sabarmati ashram.
Moreover, a quiz competition on the theme “History of Hindi Literature” was organised by the Department of Hindi as a part of Hindi Pakhwada Celebrations. Five teams of students from different departments participated in the quiz. The event was conducted by Prof. Kamal Jeet and Dr. Ravi Kumar and Dr. Neelam acted as observers and supporters.
