SAMBA, Aug 21: SPPND Government Degree College (GDC) Samba concluded a pioneering 30-hour Internship Programme for 430 Semester-5 students. Running from August 5 to 21, this initiative, aligned with NEP-2020, aimed to provide practical exposure to modern technologies and industry best practices.
The programme featured 24 student groups gaining hands-on experience across diverse fields. Internships included entrepreneurship training at JKEDI, First-Aid at Govt. District Hospital Samba, Macro teaching at GGHSS Samba, and sewing technology at ITI. Other areas covered were social welfare schemes, computer basics at Polytechnic Samba, cybercrime awareness at Police Headquarters, electoral and judicial processes, paint production at Berger Paints, sericulture techniques at SKUAST and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, and journalism at the Institute of Mass Communication and Skill Development.
Students also engaged in content writing, media operations, agricultural surveys, historical and archaeological site research in Samba, and chemistry software applications.
Under the mentorship of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, the programme bridged the gap between academic theory and practical application, enhancing employability and career prospects for students. Feedback has been positive, with students submitting detailed project reports.
