JAMMU, Mar 9: Shri Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College, Samba hosted preliminary Intra-District Goonj-2024. In the mega festival, the participating colleges were from GDC, Vijaypur, GDC, Ramgarh, GDC, Purmandal and GDC Samba.
Principal, Prof. (Dr) Twinkle Suri, along with a distinguished Jury was warmly welcomed by president of the college Saloni Sambyal. The preliminary round featured a diverse range of competitions including Poster Making, Rangoli, Elocution, Light Vocal Singing, Photography and Group Dance.
The successful participants from the preliminary round will advance to the finals of Goonj 2024, which will be held at University of Jammu. The jury members were Dr Aditi Khajuria and Dr Snober Chib from GDC, Ramgarh, Dr Sunita Devi from GDC, Purmandal, Dr Poonam Kundal from GDC, Vijaypur and Prof. Rashi Gupta and Prof. Seema Sharma from GDC, Samba.
In Poster Making, Kavya Charak from GDC, Vijaypur and Alisha Meenia from GDC Ramgarh clinched first and second position. In Rangoli-Making Saloni Sambyal from GDC Samba and in Light Vocal Singing, Chandan Kumar from GDC, Vijaypur emerged winners. In Group Dance Performance GDC Samba earned a spot in the finals. Nikhil Singh from GDC, Samba has been selected to represent the college in the Elocution. In addition to the selection process, it is noteworthy that GDC, Vijaypur secured direct entry in the Indian Group Song, Western Singing, Short Film Making and Photography. Similarly, GDC, Samba earned a direct entry in skit category, showcasing their prowess in the theatrical arts.
