GDC stood runner up in Inter-College tournament

SAMBA, Aug 30: The Volleyball team of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh stood runner-up in the Inter-College Volleyball tournament, organised at GDC Purmandal, here today.
Dr Shamsher Lal and Dr Rahul Kundal were the in-charges of GDC Ramgarh Volleyball team. The team of GDC Ramgarh under the captaincy of Akshay Singh Bagal performed very well in the league matches but in the final it lost to the team of the host College, GDC Purmandal.
Prof. Seema Mir, Principal of GDC Purmandal inaugurated the tournament officially. Chief Planning Officer of Samba District, Sukhleen Kaur was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
In the deciding match played between GDC Ramgarh and the host GDC Purmandal, the latter won by a close margin. GDC Ramgarh team claimed 2nd position in the overall score tally.
In the price distribution ceremony, the players from both the teams were given the medals and certificates of participation in the tournament.
Prof (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal of GDC Ramgarh congratulated the College team for securing the second place in the tournament and wished them good luck for all their future endeavours.
