JAMMU, July 23: Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar and GDC RS Pura today conducted online inter-collegiate competitions for students on different topics.
An open online competition on folk dances (Punjabi, Dogri, Kashmiri & Ladakhi) were organized by Department of Punjabi, Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar.
The competition was conducted under the patronage and guidance of the College Principal, Dr Sangita Nagari and HoD Punjabi Dr Surjeet Kour while the event was organised by Dr Kusum Assistant Professor, Punjabi department.
A big number of students of different colleges participated. The event was adjudged by Dr Davinder Kour, cultural co-convenor, GCW Gandhi Nagar, Yangchan Dolma, Assistant Professor Department of Social Work, Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Ladakh and Shashi, Dance choreographer.
In Punjabi folk dance contest, first positions was shared by Janvi Sharma and Kallar Himmati of GCW Udhampur, whereas Jasleen Kour of GCW Gandhi Nagar secured 2nd position and the 3rd position was shared by Sehajleen Kour and Meenakshi Devi of GDC Katra.
In Dogri, Komal Singh Patyal of GCW Gandhi Nagar secured 1st position while Nisha Kumarand and Pooja Devi of GCW Gandhi Nagar shared 2nd positions and 3rd position was shared by Poonam Devi of GCW Gandhi Nagar and Dheeraj Sharma of GDC Katra.
In Kashmiri, Binishpal Kour secured 1st Position, AV Himadari of Shree Lakshmi Narayana Ayurvedic College, Amritsar secured second position whereas 3rd position was clinched by Kiran of GCW Gandhi Nagar.
In Ladakhi, Dance Stanzin Lazes of GCW Prade Jammu, Murup Angmo of EJM College, Leh shared 2nd position respectively, while Sonam Angmo of Lamdon Model SSS, Leh and Tsering Dolkerof GCW Parade secured 3rd position.
Prabhsimran Kour, Arpanjot Kour, Ritika Choudhary, Varsha Lalotra, Sakshi Devi, Ankita Bandral, Jayneet Kour, Nandhani Sharma were awarded with consolation prizes. The students who scored high score in the competition were awarded e-certificates.
One day online quiz competition on ‘Topic Quantum Optics, Electronics and Crystallography’ was conducted by GDC RS Pura under the guidance of College Principal, Dr Sunita Sudan in which 447 students from more than 30 GDCs, PG Colleges, various private Degree Colleges and Universities across the country participated.
Students who scored 50 percent marks and above were awarded with certificate of appreciation by HoD Physics, Dr Jaipal Singh (Quiz Convener) duly endorsed by College Principal. Dr Chetan Sharma was the organizing secretary. He prepared the quiz under the guidance of Dr Jaipal Singh.
