GDCs organise national level online quiz competitions

JAMMU, June 20: Making aware about new pattern of examination (MCQ) recently announced by University of Jammu, various Govt Degree Colleges today organised online inter-collegiate quiz competitions for students.
Government PGDC (Boys) Udhampur organized online inter-collegiate MCQ quiz competition in Chemistry under the supervision of Prof Subhash Chander, Principal of the PG College.
About 209 students from different colleges and university of Jammu division participated.
Rahul Sharma of GDC Hiranagar got 1st position, Pratisha Pakhetra of GDC Ramnagar, Ankush Singh of Chandigarh College of Pharmacy Landran and Marheeb of GDC Kathua shared 2nd position whereas Shiksha Rani GCW Udhampur and Nandan Kant GDC Poonch shared 3rd position.
Department of Zoology, Govt PG College Rajouri conducted national level online quiz on Zoology.
It was organized under the guidance of College Principal, Prof (Dr) Shakeel Ahmed Raina. Prof Raheela Mushtaq, HOD Zoology was the convener and Dr Tahir Hussain Shah was the organizing secretary of the event. 253 participants from different institutions of the country participated in the quiz.
Department of Chemistry, Govt Degree College Kathua today conducted national level quiz competition on “Organic and Inorganic Chemistry” in which 893 students from different colleges and universities from across the country participated.
The event was organized under supervision of Prof Asha Ram Sharma, Principal of the College, Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia HOD Chemistry whereas the event was conducted by Prof Rakesh Singh.
In UG level competition, Roshani Bandral of GDC Kathua secured 1st position, Priyanka Choudhary of Cluster University of Jammu secured 2nd and Shanu Sharma of Cluster University of Jammu secured 3rd position whereas Anukriti Singhal of DU, Shubham Sharma of GDC, Kathua and Bopinder Singh of Cluster University of Jammu shared consolation prize.
In PG & Research category: Pritam Avinash Shete of NSC Science College, Nashik and Chhavi Khajuria of GNDU Amritsar shared 1st prize, Madan Kumar of LPU Punjab secured 2nd prize, Monisha K of Bishop Heber College, Trichy (Tamil Nadu) and Sakshi Sood of MCM DAV College Chandigarh shared 3rd prize while Ganesh Jabotra of IIT Gandhinagar and Kiran Verma, Suchita Dhammi and Harleen Kaur of DAV College for Women Chandigarh shared consolation certificate.
Govt Degree College Udhampur organized inter-collegiate competition in English for 6th semester students.
Nikhil and Vaishally Thakur of GDC Udhampur shared 1st prize by scoring 100 percent marks, the second position was shared by Laksh Kesar, Raghav Sharma, Rahul Sharma and Rakesh thakur, all of them from GDC Udhampur whereas 3rd position went to Bhaviya Koul of GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Isha katoch of GCW Udhampur, Nandan Kant of GDC Poonch, Parvez Ansari of GDC Kathua, Sakshi Sharma of GCW Udhampur, and Urvashsi & Udita Sharma of GCW Udhampur.
4th position was shared by Adil Mohammad, Atahar Mahmood, Varun Chalotra, Vishakha Malgotra and Remu Sharma of GDC Udhampur, Anisha Bharti, Manvi Sharma, Namrata, Ria Sharma, Seema Sharma, Sheetal Sharma and Sakshi Sharma of GCW Udhampur, Mudasar Shah of GDC Poonch, Narinder Kour, Syed Aabiru Andrabi and Zahida Gul of SP College Srinagar.
The event was conducted under the supervision of College Principal, Prof Subhash Chander Sharma.
Govt Degree College Khour organized online quiz competition for 6th semester students in Dogri.
The event was conducted under the supervision of Prof Hans Raj, Principal of the College. 16 participants secured 100 percent marks, 13 got 93.3 percent whereas nine students obtained 86.7 percent scores.
Principal of the College enunciated that such quiz competitions would help the students in their preparation of final examination and offer them better understanding of concepts. The event was conducted by Dr Rajesh Manhas, HOD Dogri.
Department of Dogri, Govt. Degree College Akhnoor also organized inter-college online quiz competition on “Dogri Sannet Te Natak” for 6th semester students under the supervision College Principal, Dr Namarta.
The event was organized by Dr Suresh Sharma, HOD Dogri. The objective the competition was to prepare students for their term end examination.
Sahil Bhagat of GDC Akhnoor secured 1st position, 2nd position was shared by Priya Sharma, Jyoti Sharma, Neha Devi, Monika Devi, Mamta Sharma of GDC Akhnoor and Rajni Devi of GDC Khour whereas 3rd position was shared by Ruchi Sharma and Sushila Devi of GDC Akhnoor.
Besides this, e-certificates were given to all those candidates who secured 60 percent marks and above.
Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology today organized e-quiz competition on “Fundamentals of Electrical and Electronics Engineering” for the college students and faculty members.
About 575 students and faculty members from the various institutions across the country participated. Out of total participation, 425 candidates were declared successful who scored more than 60 percent marks. The main objective of e-quiz was to create online teaching and learning process and develop a competitive environment among the students and faculty members of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. E-certificates will be issued to all the participants.
The YCET Management and Prof (Dr) A K Srivastava, Director YCET congratulated all the participants for their success and efforts.
Department of Political Science of Government Degree College Surankote today organized an online inter-collegiate quiz competition on the topic, ‘Government and Politics in J&K”.
In the competition Bandeep Kour of GDC Kathua bagged 1st position, Sakshi Sharma of GDC Surankote got 2nd position and 3rd position was shared by Abdul Kabir of GDC Poonch and Ashah Javied of GDC Surankote.
The event was coordinated by Dr Naseer Ahmed Kalis, HOD Political Science under the overall supervision of College Principal, Dr Jasbir Singh.
NSS Unit of Govt Degree College Thannamandi organised an online quiz competition in which large numbers of students from various colleges and universities participated.
The event was conducted under the supervision of Prof (Dr) Javaid Ahmed Qazi, Principal of the College. The technical support was provided by Shafqat Shabir Qazi (Computer Operator).
