UDHAMPUR, Apr 30: A meeting of General Line Teachers Forum was held here today under the presidium of District chairman Sarbjeet Singh and vice president Rakesh Singh to discuss the present scenario of education and highlight the various burning issues of teaching community.
While addressing the teachers, Sarbjeet Singh highlighted the problems being faced by the teachers due to vacant posts of Zonal Education Officers of Zone Jib and Zone Udhampur and demanded that these posts should be filled immediately without any delay for smooth functioning of these two most busy offices of district Udhampur.
District president Vivek Gupta, while speaking on the occasion, demanded to depute untrained in- service teachers of Jammu province for regular B Ed courses through department on regular basis as none of the teachers has been deputed for B Ed from last three years.
In the meeting, Rakesh Singh appealed the Education Minister to immediately adjust the aggrieved unadjusted Masters, who were promoted in February 2014, by nullifying the order No. 66 as this order does not apply to the Masters promoted in February 2014. As all the Masters promoted in the same batch in Kashmir province got adjusted, non-adjustment of their counterparts in Jammu is sheer injustice with Masters of Jammu province, he explained.
Ramesh Kumar, general secretary, demanded that DPC of all subjects of Lecturers and Masters should be held regularly to meet the deficiency of staff in various schools. He also highlighted the need of measures to be taken up for preventing unnecessary harassment of the teachers at offices and to maintain the dignity of the teachers.
Other demands, put forth by the Forum, included issuance of the GPF statement along with GP schedule, clearance of pending in-situ files , repatriation of the ReT teachers, review of no detention policy, detachment of the Teachers and Masters from Education offices, release of pending MDM dues, etc.
Forum also threatened to launch the agitation if these demands are not conceded in time bound manner.
Others who spoke in the meeting, included Sohan Lal, Ajeet Gupta, Pardeep Gupta, Mohinder Kumar, Anil Kumar and Raj Kumar.
