GFS demands sufficient place for Gojri language in Akashvani, Doordarshan

JAMMU, Oct 23: Gojri Flahi Sangat (GFS)-an organization for the promotion of tribal language and literature of gujjars in a monthly meeting has demanded sufficient place for Gojri language in Akashvani and Doordarshan.
While speaking, the speakers said that it is a matter of concern that 20 lakh Gojri speaking people and 4 lakh non-gujjars are deprived of their right. They said flow of information and instant information is inevitable in this era of social media platforms, whereas broadcasting only one news bulletin of 10 minutes in 24 hours is not a justice with the Gojri speaking population.
“The nomad population is spread across Jammu and Kashmir which keeps on migration mode even on difficult terrain having no source of connectivity with the outer world except radio, they added.
During the meeting, the organization was re-constituted, wherein Mohammad Ameen Anjum was elected as State president.
Among others present were Anwar Hussain, Mohammad Hussain, Mohammad Arif Sajjad, Mohammad Ameen Anjum, Advocate Mohammad Shafiq, Khalil Ahmed, Abdul Rehman, Bagh Ali Tahir, Tariq Hussain Abrar, Advocate Mohammad Akram, Shokat Ali, Javed Iqbal, Mohammad Latif and Mohammad Ishtiaq Misbah.
