GGF gives warm welcome to Prof Radhakrishnan

GGF members awarding Gandhi Sewa Medal to the eminent Gandhian, Prof N Radhakrishnan at Jammu.

JAMMU, July 28: A welcome function was organized here today by the Gandhian workers to give a warm welcome to the eminent Gandhian, Prof N Radhakrishnan at Jammu.
The function was organized under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Gupta, former MP and advisor of Gandhi Global Family (GGF) and Padam Shri, S P Varma, president GGF J&K and also National vice-president.
On this occasion Radhakrishnan, who has been conferred many prestigious awards, was awarded Gandhi Sewa medal by GGF for his contribution for promotion of Gandhian Ideology worldwide.
Welcoming the eminent Gandhian, Varma said that Radhakrishan has written more than 60 books, on Mahatma Gandhi and has been conferred, with ‘Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Award 2007’, ‘Gandhi-King- Ikeda Community Builders Award 2001’, ‘Mahpragya award for non-violence training -2001’, He is also the recipient of Government of India award for outstanding Hindi writers for non-Hindi speaking areas-1997, he said, adding that he has also been decorated with honarary Doctorate by Soka University in Tokyo.
Prof Krishanan while interacting with Gandhian workers emphasized the need to involve youth in national understanding and national development. He announced a campaign called “lead me for untruthfulness to truth, Mortality to Mortality from 2nd Oct 2013 to 30th January 2014. Giving details, he said the activities during the campaign will include seven areas i) making short films of 5-15 minutes duration, ii)  incentives to youth , iii) film festivals iv)  drawing competition etc.
He further emphasised the need to inculcate intellectual understating of Indian values and Gandhian ideas among the youth.
Addressing the workers, the presiding officer of the programme Janak Raj Gupta said that GGF is committed to the cause of spreading Gandhian ideals. While appreciating the programme announced by Radhakrishnan, he assured that the programme will be implemented in true spirits in the State.
