JAMMU, July 4: Gandhi Global Family (GGF) today organized a function in connection with death anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
The purpose of the function was to generate awareness among youth about values of Swami Vivekananda and help building strong and vibrant India.
In his opening remark, Padmashri SP Varma, vice-president, Gandhi Global Family, dwelt upon his contributions in promoting global values among youth. He added that Vivekananda was a learned scholar who treated all religions equally. He gave profound importance to religious tolerance and cultural diversity.
Dr Taran Singh, secretary, YHAI J&K, explained the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teaching in present time.
On the occasion, Gandhi Global Family honoured Suresh Sharma, Principal, Tagore Public Higher Secondary School, Tarore with Swami Vivekananda Puruskar for his contribution in education field.
